Edible Chesapeake is a return to home-town roots for Renee. A native Washingtonian, she was away from the area for more than 20 years, traveling, living and eating in Mexico, Turkey and Houston, Texas, where she married and started her family. After careers in diplomacy, public relations and international protocol, she turned to freelance writing to indulge her true passion -- food. She co-publishes www.realpeopleeatlocal.com and the email newsletter Local Mix with Kristi Bahrenburg Janzen. Renee became publisher and editor of Edible Chesapeake in December 2006.

A former financial journalist, Kristi has been writing about organic and sustainable food and agriculture, and eco-friendly living for many years. She is a native of New York's Hudson Valley, where she grew up surrounded by small dairies, apple orchards and her family's own organic garden.
