The quaint Pigtown neighborhood is located near the B&O Railroad
Museum in Southwest Baltimore. Pigtown received its unique name around
the turn of the century when pigs were herded form the B&O Railroad
Terminal and Union Stockyards and moved to South Baltimore. The running of
the pigs still takes place every year at the Pigtown Festival in honor of this
historic event, but on a smaller scale.
The Pigtown Festival is sponsored by the Pigtown Main Streets,
Baltimore Main Streets, Citizens of Pigtown, Fraternity Federal Bank, BDC,
Results One Realty, Whole Foods Harbor East, Under Armour, Magnum
Construction, Fabulous Salon and Spa, Montgomery Park Business Center,
New City, Mount Clare Mansion, Sports Legends Museum, Boordy Wine, and
